On this auspicious occasion, and in honor of Birdie’s birthday, we shamelessly reprise and recycle the Ballad of Birdie Jaworski--To the tune of Rocky Raccoon:
Now somewhere in foothills of New Mexico
There lived a young gal named Birdie Jaworski
And one day her parrot taught her pig to drive
And to paint mascara on its eyes--Birdie didn't like that
She said I'm gonna get them boys.
So she got up, she walked into town
And saw the pig parked at the local saloon
Birdie Jaworsk, was flummoxed of coursk
To find Frankie up on a table
Frankie’d let go, in fact he’d turned pro
He looked not unlike Betty Grable.
Ramses it seems had big money schemes,
Exerting control over Frankie.
He taught Frank to dance, and to trade in his pants
For something that made him more “Swankie”.
Ramses sat toward the back, with his sidekick Ulak
Who'd also been hitting the Avon
Then Birdie burst in, and grinning a grin
Commenced there to getting’ her rave on.
But Ramses was wise—through his blue shadowed eyes
He goaded his dancing pig slave on.
Now listen to this-—seven sci’ntologists
Were sitting just at the next table
They’d done deals with J'worsk, buying Avon, of coursk
Their whoop-ass cans needed no label.
They talked down the pig and the parrot, as big
Mr. Ulak hid under the table
Now Birdie Jaworsk loves birdies of coursk
And Pigs, and she’s quite fond of Ulak.
Said she’d drive them all home to the big pleasure dome
As soon as they give all the goo* back
*Editor's Note: goo is a general reference here to pilfered Avon products.
Happy Birthday Birdie! You share my mom's birthday too!! She's 74 years young & still going strong despite being diabetic, arthritic, and all that comes with age & missing her husband (my father). May she and you see many, many, many more birthdays!! You are inspiring me to give my writing a try, as well as inspiring me to make my Avon business a success! :)
Bonnie! I agree with Birdie--You are a master of the medium. I predict the art widget is going to get a lot of use at La Pajaro. Great feature, proprietress!
I get a peaceful easy feeling here already, Birdie. Nicely done :-)

Thanks, Carroll!! I'm excited to have a place away from all the Avon.

Good move, Birdie! Very exciting. The enterprise gleams.

It's the party before the party! Woooooooooooot!
Tomorrow morning is the big launch! I have a little story to tell about some new friends, marshmallows, and a field trip, all rolled into one mosaic.
Now. Pass the pre-birthday margaritas!!

Also, if you make some art with that crazy widget on my right sidebar, and then click "save" you can then post the link to your art here!
Posted by: Birdie | December 06, 2006 at 08:12 PM
Also, I should mention:
I am still adding links to mis amigos, so if you aren't represented, don't freak out yet! I'll say when you can freak out!
I'm also adding (heh heh evil laugh) more people to my "cast of characters" in the "About" page. Give me a week to finish that, tho. I have plans...
