When the inner ear ain't happy, ain't nobody happy
A couple of weeks ago I had a mild case of the flu - low grade fever, aches, pains, chills, all things that demand bed rest and cups of hot broth. Of course, having young boys the bed rest was a pipe dream, but at least I took ramen at morning, noon, and night. Six cents a pack, can't beat that.
One of my symptoms other than the usual scared me. Straight-up wild vertigo. Every time I swished my head this way or that, up or down, side to side, the room lifted from the foundation and spun - hard! It's two weeks later and the room still vibrates. Gotta be a sinus deal, I figured, and visted the local walk-in clinic.
Ends up it's not sinus, just a viral infection - vestibular neuritis - of the nerve that runs from inner ear to brain. Just give it a few weeks, says the doc. It will heal.
Weeks?! Ugh. Can't accomplish a whole lot when the world is tornado.

Birdie, yikes! I thought you told me you were on the mend from that. Major bummer, girl! I'm glad you went in and had your head examined, at least. 'Bout time, right gang? :)

No vertigo here, but constant ringing is making me long for a comfy rubber room. Bottom line: muy simpatico.

Oh, I feel for you. I had that as a kid and it was AWFUL!

vestibular neuritis?
Sounds like something a crzy priest does in a church!

poor babe.. makes me think my constant tinnitus isn't so bad after all.

Ugh. I thought dealing with fluid in my ear (since Christmas Day!) was bad. You have it a million times worse. Get well soon!

Sorry to hear that Birdie.
Too bad the room is not really spinning. You could get the whole place painted in a flash if it were. Just stand there with a brush held out smacking the walls with paint as they flew by.
You sure that it is not CyberSmootherItis? Brought on by contemplating 6 cyber kisses???
Am I obsessed?
Can it at least work for you a little and eke some extra sympathy (and house work) from the kiddlets?

Close one eye tightly. Then extend the opposite arm forward and point the index finger upward. Focus on the finger as you walk. This might help, especially if you need a cab.
(Feel better, girl!)

An artist's rendition of Vestibular Neuritis, shortly before said artist is banned from ever again posting portraits of Birdie.

OK, I give up.... what the *&(#&$#( is Paczki Day?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

It's not fair. You already had a delightfully skewed way to view the world. Even before this, I'll bet your eyeballs spun in their sockets like dreidls. Some of us dull devotees could use a little whirl now & then.

Sounds miserable, Birdie. I hear it’s warming up out west. Hopefully that will shave some time from your recovery period. Sit on that pillow and meditate—let your voice evict the vertigo. Like, …when you have a few minutes~,:^)

I think we need to rename the art widgetty: The Willow Wand.

Bonnie, ha hah ha ha!!! Ok, your art wedgie is going up as the sidebar pic tomorrow! I'm putting all of these into a little gallery. Too funny.
I am still a dizzy dame. Ugh.

"CyberSmotherItis"???
I clearly meant:
"CyberSmooCH Eritis"
Sheesh.

Gee, Jedd. If just *thinking* about those cyber smooches has you all in a tizzy like this, imagine how you'll feel if you actually receive them!

Carol - I faint easily :)

I've been fainting (sorta), too! But not at any kisses, alas. I hope this goes away soon.
I'm going to start compiling the suggested taglines and choose my favorite ten, then everyone can vote!
